The story of Fisherman's Friend begins in 1865 when pharmacist James Lofthouse made a strong syrup for fishermen in the small harbor of Fleetwood in the North West of England, which relieved them of throat problems due to adverse weather conditions. Then Fisherman's Friend acquired the candy form they have to this day. One hundred and thirty-five years later, Fisherman's Friend candies are found in 115 countries around the world and have fanatical friends.
